An assessment is the first start of the process of evaluating a keiki - it is a battery (lots) of tests we use to examine what the child’s strengths and needs are. This can include eliciting language and speech through play, looking at pictures, talking about a short video, making movement with our faces, and having a caregiver interview. We use that information to let your insurance know your child needs therapy and request them to cover the cost of them. The assessment also is a great starting point for creating therapy goals.
